What the score actually measures

Five dimensions, weighted. The number on its own is not the useful part; the findings under it are.

Impact & numbersWhether your bullets carry evidence. A bullet with a figure reads as something you did; one without reads as something you were present for. This is the dimension most resumes lose the most points on, and the easiest to fix in an afternoon.
CompletenessThe sections a screener expects for your profile, and whether each one has enough in it to be worth reading. An education block with no marks or a skills section with four entries both register here.
Brevity & densityWhether the page earns its length. Summaries that run past 40 words, bullets that run to three lines, and roles carrying eight bullets when three would land harder.
Language qualityVerb strength and phrasing. Weak openers, passive constructions, responsibility language instead of outcome language, and repeated verbs across bullets.
Contact & formatWhether a recruiter can reach you and whether software can read you: a professional email, a reachable phone, links that work, standard headings and consistent dates.

Why this one is free when the others are not

Most resume checkers are the front of a funnel: they show you a score, tell you there are twelve problems, and then ask for a card before naming any of them. The score exists to create the anxiety the paywall then charges to relieve.

We show the findings because a resume score without the fixes is not worth anything. What you pay for here, if you ever pay at all, is the curated template set and the extras. Never the export, never the score, and never the door.

Questions

Is this resume checker really free?

Yes. Three checks a day per device, no account, no card, no email required. The score and the fixes are the product, not a teaser for them. We make money from Pro templates and extras, never from the door.

Do you store my resume?

No. The file is parsed, scored and discarded inside the same request. We keep neither the document nor its contents, which is also why you cannot come back tomorrow and see your old report.

Is this an ATS checker?

Partly, and we would rather be honest about the difference. Contact & format covers whether your structure survives a parser, so you will find out if the layout is a problem. But there is no single 'the ATS' to test against — every employer configures theirs differently, and any tool quoting you an exact ATS pass rate is guessing. The other four dimensions are about whether a human keeps reading once it parses.

Do applicant tracking systems reject 75% of resumes automatically?

That statistic circulates everywhere without a credible source. Most systems rank and surface rather than auto-reject, and a person makes the call. Bad parsing hurts by making your resume incomplete in the employer's database, not by triggering an automatic rejection.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF, DOCX, TXT, and a LinkedIn data-export ZIP. There is also a paste tab if you would rather not upload a file at all. Maximum 5 MB.

Will the score tell me what to actually change?

That is the point. Each finding names the section, what is wrong, and what to do instead. The top three are shown free; the rest open in the studio, where you can fix them with the score updating as you type.
